He joined the force in July 1871. He served until 1879 in the Bodmin division, and until 1889 in the Truro area, then being transferred to the Liskeard Division, with promotion to sergeant.
In 1894 he was moved to Helston, served for a period at Bodmin headquarters and from 1894 until his retirement in 1900 he was stationed at Launceston. |
