Charles Ziemann, Hudson Bay trader of London was in Winnipeg today having arrived from a 30 days trip through the ice and snow fields of the far north in reaching this city from York factory about 500 miles away.

As far as we are aware this is a totally unique record, a hand written Journal taking two years to complete by William (Bill) Oliver who lived in Torleven, Porthleven. He was the eldest of the two Oliver brothers, well known boat builders.
This was donated to the museum by Denis Oliver, son of Bill.

A brief history of Paul Rosewarn's life including his WW1 experience having been awarded the DCM for the heroic part he played in the capture of a German machine gun nest in Belgium.
On Paul's return to Porthleven he established the first charabanc transport system in West Cornwall.

This is a complete copy of a hand written journal/ledger of produced in 1969 by William (Bill) Oliver, Denis Oliver's father who lived at Torleven Porthleven. He was the eldest of the two Oliver's brothers, well known boat builders. It is a unique record consisting of around 100 pages broken down into consecutive volumes.

On Saturday 9th July 2016 120 years of Porthleven soccer was celebrated in Out of the Blue, the window to Porthleven Museum's images of historic life in the village.
